Abstract
The invention relates to a wide fabric for bandages which can have great elasticity along the warp and along the weft and can easily tear in both directions. The warp and the weft may be by single or twisted threads of cotton, fibrane or a mixture of these two fibers, having undergone a strong twist in opposite directions. The fabric may also include threads covered with polyurethane or rubber as well as multi-strand, textured, fine synthetic threads. Metal oxides or salts or a resin are incorporated therein. It is also impregnated with latex to which is added an aqueous emulsion of an agent for protecting against aging. The removal by the doctor or the patient of the part of tissue required for a dressing is done by tearing by hand, following the warp and following the weft.
