Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif pour le réglage en position axiale d'un élément de commande en rotation, tel que le volant d'un véhicule automobile. La colonne de direction 1 comprend deux arbres axialement alignés 2, 3 solidaires en rotation par un manchon d'accouplement 9. Des moyens de blocage et de déblocage axial 13 d'un des deux arbres par rapport à l'autre sont constitués par des éléments à contact par friction 14 mobiles radialement et coopérant avec le manchon et l'arbre mobile axialement. La commande de blocage est assurée par un élément élastique 25 agissant sur lesdits éléments, et la commande de déblocage est assurée par un élément à commande manuelle 30 susceptible d'agir à l'encontre de l'action exercée par ledit élément élastique. L'invention s'applique notamment à l'industrie automobile.
