Abstract

The postal envelope is used twice over, having panels extended by flaps with glued edges. One of the flaps, pref. that attached to the front panel, is folded over the back and glued to it, while the other is folded inside the envelope and against the panel of which it is an extension. Folding is carried out along a line bringing it slightly below the top of the envelope. Some 2mm away on the inside is a second perforated line. After unfolding the flap for the return journey, this forms a top extending slightly above the envelope top, thus allowing folding agains the front panel so as to cover the face of the latter completely, including any magnetic postal sorting codes. It is held in place by its glued and moistened internal edges.
