Abstract

The multi-post machine has several machining units (3) disposed at equal angular intervals about a central table (2) supporting the workpieces. The units align radially and can be selectively re-oriented by pivoting about the central vertical axis of the table. The machine may have four units (3) mounted with the table (2) on a sub-frame. Two units may be fixed, two (a, b) may be adjustable for orientation, and all units (3) act simultaneously. Each unit (3) may have adjustable tools and the table (2) may have universal clamps for locating diverse workpieces. The work handling movements of the machine may be programmed and the units (3) together with the table (2) may be individually controlled by incremental motors.
