Abstract
Dispositif destiné à retenir, libérer et remettre en place un grand nombre de masses d'absorption de neutrons destinées à provoquer l'arrêt rapide du coeur d'un réacteur nucléaire. Il comporte une gaine il de sécurité contenant des masses 12 d'absorption de neutrons qui sont retenues par des trappes 14 au-dessus d'un tronçon de cette gaine pénétrant dans le coeur du réacteur. Un clapet 16 de trémie maintient les trappes 14 en position de fermeture jusqu'à ce qu'un certain paramètre du réacteur, par exemple la température du fluide de refroidissement, atteigne une valeur critique pour laquelle le clapet 16 descend et permet la chute des billes 12.
