Abstract

The elastic band is shaped by cutting so as to make an angle with the longitudinal axis of the cylinder which it surrounds. The band has two flank pieces (8) and two end pieces (6, 7). The end pieces are wider than the sides and are curved in the plane of the rubber so as to form along the face of the cylinder. The bands may also by symmetrical being cut at an angle to the axis of the cylinder.
