Abstract

A relatively large piloted aircraft controls several smaller pilotless aircraft. Each pilotless aircraft is connected to the command aircraft by an optical fibre which can be extended to a length of 50-2000 metres. The optical fibres transmit information to the pilot of the command aircraft and enable him to transmit signals to control the pilotless aircraft. The piloted aircraft may be connected to pilotless aircraft ahead and astern. The optical fibre assembly pref. consists of six fibres in a sheath, the end connectors laser and photo emissive diodes.
