Abstract

L'invention concerne un système passif de radionavigation radar appliqué au contrôle du trafic aérien. L'appareil de l'invention comprend un récepteur 1 d'interrogations émises par le radar secondaire dans l'aire de service duquel l'appareil fonctionne, un récepteur 5 de réponses de transpondeurs, des décodeurs 4 et 8 et des chronomètres 9 et 12 envoyant leurs signaux à un moyen de calcul 14. Les coordonnées du transpondeur ainsi calculées peuvent être affichées sur un écran de visualisation 16. L'appareil de l'invention joue le même rôle qu'un radar de surveillance secondaire, mais il utilise les signaux radars d'un radar situé ailleurs et est donc d'un moindre coût qu'une installation complète. De plus il ne surcharge pas les reseaux actuellement existants de radars.
