Abstract

The cylinder lock has radially displacing spring loaded pistons moved axially by the key (7, 8). The lock comprises a barrel (3) rotating within a casing (1), and relative rotation is authorised when the interface of the piston-bits aligns with the barrel to casing interface. The lock has two alternative angularly orientated stations at which the key can be removed. At the second station the outer piston-bits (17) are mounted on a common base plate (16) constrained by a leaf spring (18). A range of radial holes open out into the keyhole and align in a common radial plane. The casing block incorporates two ranges of holes (14).
