Abstract

Cyclised guanidines of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new: In (I) X is methylene, hydroxymethylene or carbonyl; R1 is monomethoxy phenyl, thienyl, or 5-alkylthio-1, 3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl. (I) are antihypertensives, which do not affect cardiac rhythm at antihypertensive doses. A typical prod., 4-amino-6, 7-dimethoxy-2- 4-(3-methoxy benzoyl)piperidino quinazoline methane sulphonate is prepd. by refluxing 4-(3-methoxy benzoyl)piperidine and 4-amino-6, 7-dimethoxy-2-chloroqyinazoline in isoamyl alcohol.
