Abstract

The box is folded from a single sheet of carboard, stamped out and having a number of folds defining the sides, ends, top and bottom. The section (10) of the sheet forming the top has three parallel fold lines (14, 15, 16) at regular intervals, the middle one of which runs along its centre line. The widths of the parts (110, 210) of this section outside the outer fold lines (14, 16) are same, and half as great as half the width of the section (7) forming the bottom. This parallel fold lines (14, 15, 16) form two adjacent strips (17, 18) of the same width, whose outer ends form lugs (19, 19,a, 20, 20a) extending beyond the outline of the top section (10). On folding, these lugs fit in pairs in slots (21, 22) formed in the end wall sections (11, 12).
