Abstract

The collapsible pedal operated raft has two floats (11, 12) joined by tubular cross struts with clip on fasteners and supporting a folding seat (1) between them. An inverted U-frame (22) supported foot pedal (18, 22) operated crank which is linked to two reciprocating paddles (29) which scoop down into the water between the floats. The whole assembly can be demounted and stored in a car boot. All the tubular frame members fold flat, and the paddles are supported from the top of the U-frame by short hinged levers (33).
