Abstract

Cette invention concerne une douille de joint de cardan associée à une bague d'étanchéité disposée entre l'extrémité de la douille et l'épaulement du tourillon du croisillon de joint de cardan. Suivant l'invention, la rainure de mise à l'atmosphère prévue de façon connue dans la périphérie interne de la bague d'étanchéite pour l'échappement de l'air ou du lubrifiant en excès est rendue étanche vis-à-vis des influences extérieures, à son extrémité opposée à la douille du palier, par une lèvre d'étanchéité élastique coopérant de préférence avec l'épaulement du tourillon de joint de cardan. Cet agencement évite, tout en conservant la propriété d'échappement de l'air et du lubrifiant en excés, la pénetration de saletés ou d'eau dans la douille et l'endommagement prématuré du palier qui peut en résulter.
