Abstract

The screw feeder at the base of a supply silo (1) is mounted in a horizontal casing (5). The feeder is driven from a geared motor (11) through a coupling (10) and supported in bearings (6, 7) in a casing (8). The outlet (2) to the feeder is vertically upwards and located near the outer end of the feeder. The outlet is supported by a transition cone (19) which spans the width of the feeder. air pipes with vertical air jets are mounted on either side of the screw, inside the casing and below the delivery pipe to aerate the product and convey it into the pipe.
