Abstract

The separator works on the basis that different liquids freeze at different temps.; the apparatus comprises a refrigerating element at the base of a box. The liquid mixt. is fed into the box, the excess runs out through overflow pipes and the liq. at the bottom of the box freezes, allowing the other liq. which has not frozen to be removed. Dimensions and design may vary as a function of the use to which the apparatus is to be put. The equipment is particularly useful for fighting pollution on seas and rivers. The apparatus may be used in any location without danger to the flora and fauna. It is economical and easy to use and it may be made rapidly. It is open to adaption for various uses.
