Abstract

Disposable nappies comprise an abosrbant core within a porous cover contained by a sheet of impermeable film are fitted on the outside of the impermeable film with elastic strips to seal the impermeable layer around the wearer's legs. The zone of the film to which the elastic is bonded is not locally fastened to the internal absorbant core or its integral cover. The desing ensures an effective seal with greater comfort than designs where elastic seal moveent is directly inhibited by the relatively less flexible core.
