Abstract

La chaîne d'une moto ou d'un vélomoteur doit être toujours bien tendue sous peine d'usure anormale, de conduite désagréable ou même d'accident. La solution la plus courante consiste à placer contre la chaîne un pignon dont l'axe est soumis à l'action d'un ressort de rappel; mais ce dispositif ne sert pas quand on se sert du moteur comme frein. Le dispositif préconisé utilise un pignon (ou un disque) 4 dont l'axe est fixe par rapport au moteur 1. C'est l'enroulement de la chaîne autour de ce pignon qui corrige la différence de trajet de la chaîne lorsqu'elle engrène sur la roue en position basse 2b. La position du pignon empêche la chaîne de sauter sur le pignon 1. Est efficace aussi bien en marche normale que lorsqu'on se sert du moteur comme frein.
