Abstract

The furniture articles are assembled by means of flat L shaped brackets (6). One leg of the bracket (6) is fitted onto a slot (8) cut in the undersurface of the desk top (2). The bracket is then secured by two transverse pins (30a, 30b) which are driven into the edge of the panel and then secured by glueing blocks of wood (32a, 32b) over the holes. The other leg of the bracket (6) is fixed in a slot (13) in the side panel (3a) in a similar manner although using only one pin (7). This method of construction improves the appearance of the desk since no parts of the joints are visible externally.
