Abstract

The cooling fins for the pipes are made from relatively wide strip material. The strip is folded to and fro to form deep corrugations which lie close together. The tips of the corrugations at either end are trapezium shaped. The shape of the tips of the corrugations make it possible to fit one strip against the other, with the tips of the corrugations overlapping. Several strips are placed together to form a stack. Holes are made through the corrugations near the tips. Pipes are passed through these holes, the pipes are subjected to internal pressure to secure them in the corrugations.
