Abstract
A hollow sphere has a ring of Pelton type buckets (5) round its outside and floats in a natural or artificial stream of flowing water. It has a shaft running through a dia. perpendicular to the plane of the buckets and can revolve about this shaft. The ends (21, 22) of the shaft are held in universal joints (3) on supporting arms (4). The arms are anchored to the side or base of the water channel and converge towards each other. Electrical generators are placed within the hollow sphere. The stators are fixed to the stationary shaft and the rotors are driven by bevel gears from an internally toothed gear wheel on the inside of the hollow sphere.
