Abstract

The strong-room has robust walls with mechanical resistance characteristics and incorporates an element which is capable of conducting electricity. The element is continuous, undulates to form a series of closely spaced parallel lines in the wall plane, and is mounted on a plate. The plate is pref. of insulating material, and conductor as such is installed so as to cover all the walls of the strong room. The conductors are energised and associated with detectors which effect the alarm when the circuit is broke. The conductor may take the form of an embedded wire or a post-installed adhesive strip, and the conductors which are related to individual walls may be connected in series. The conductor may be embedded in plastic, and the distance between lines is such that a line will be broken during illegal entry. As a further alternative the element may be mounted on a pliable support which is suitable for sliding behind existing installations.
