Abstract

Traffic detector for automatically counting vehicles operates by variation in inductance of a detecting loop consisting of at least one spiral formed by an electrical conductor, e.g. a copper-core flexible wire with plastics insulation of dia. 10-20 tenths of a mm. The conductor is adhered to the roadway and covered with a protective strip which is also adhered to the roadway. The protective strip is made of PVC-type plastics, and has a thickness of 2 1/2 mm. and a width of 1 mm.
