Abstract

The twin contactor assembly for use in reversing contactor applications consists of two conventional contactors (10) which can be combined by means of a coupling element (14). The coupling element is formed from two components (16, 18) each comprising a base plate with vertical hooked pegs at each corner. When the two halves are mated, a chamber is formed (165) which can accommodate interlock levers (166, 167). These are operated by a conventional interlock mechanism. Each contactor body has shoulders on each of the vertical outer edges. The contactors are joined together side by side by clipping the respective pairs of arms on the coupling element to the side cheeks of the contactor, the projections on the ends of the arm engaging with the shoulders on the contactor moulding.
