Abstract

A injection moulding assembly for plastics ro rubber comprises an injection unit and a closure unit containing the mould. The barrel or cylinder of the injection unit and the mould communicate via a transition chamber, contg. a piston; the axis of this piston is different from that of the injection unit cylinder. The driving cylinder of the injection unit is connected hydraulically to the driving cylinder of the transition chamber piston. Specifically the transition chamber is contained within a bridge mounded on a fixed clamping plate or is mounted on the machine frame in communication with the mould via an aperture in the fixed clamping plate with a communicating duct. Used for a wide range of injection moulding both at low and high pressure, for small or large components, and for dense or foam plastics or rubber. Appts. can be assembled from a conventional injection machine and conventional mould by the addition of the extra transition chamber between them.
