La canalisation 1 est entourée à distance d'une enveloppe 3 présentant, au point le plus bas, une rigole Il renfermant plusieurs fils 13 isolés les uns des autres et de l'enveloppe 3, l'isolation des fils étant interrompue de manière que le métal liquide s'échappant de la canalisation 1, s'accumulant dans la rigole 11, établisse un contact électrique entre les fils 13. Application : notamment aux canalisations de sodium dans des installations nucléaires refroidies au sodium.
