Abstract

Advertising leaflets which are inserted in magazines etc. are arranged to open automatically by means of a specially shaped piece of cardboard (10). The piece of cardboard is roughly T shaped with a fold line (12) between the horizontal (14) and vertical (16) parts. An elastic cord (40) is fitted in notches (18, 20, 22, 24) so that it exerts a force tending to fold the cardboard about the line (12). To hold the cardboard flat when it is being inserted inside the leaflet, the tab (32) is folded along the line (34) and the elastic cord (40) is hooked over the rounded end and underneath the second tab (28). When the magazine which carries the leaflet has the edges of its pages trimmed, the folded edge (34) is also cut away. When the magazine is opened the elastic cord (40) folds the cardboard and opens the leaflet.
