Abstract

The dry transfer comprises a synthetic support sheet, transparent or translucent, having on one face ink symbols printed on, partic. by screen-printing, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive, together with a silicone-treated guard sheet. The support sheet is cut into a number of sections, each contg. one or more symbols, and typically rectangular. The symbols can be positioned in the sections so as to be in line and/or correctly spaced when the sections are placed edge to edge. The periphery of the support sheet, acting as a frame, can be free of symbols and the sections with them can also have datum marks for alignment and correct spacing. The support sheet is pref. of polyethylene terephthalate.
