Abstract

Device for fixing on a wall (14) the end of a sheath (12) in which a control cable (10) can slide comprises a ferrule (28) matching the sheath end and a plastics intermediate unit (44) which fits into a hole in the wall (14). This unit has a flange (36) abutting the wall (14) a stepped sleeve (30) extending through it. A closure (42) with a boss (40) surrounds the cable, ending in a sealing annulus (66). The ferrule (28) has a shoulder (56) and boss (54) with bead (54) so that when the ferrule is pressed into the plastics unit it locks the unit within the wall as well as locking the ferrule in the unit. A tube (18) is flanged (28) and has threads (20) between itself and protective cover (22).
