Abstract

The prefabricated roof structure has a sheeting base (9) with longitudinal beams (4) the full length, with shorter cross beams (6) mounted on them. This forms a unit which can be mounted on a suitable structure (1) below. This unit also has sides (27) and ends (5) and cover sheets giving a set of enclosed boxes or chambers. Sealing strips are mounted along the projecting edges of the sides and ends, and each chamber incorporates ventilation holes which allow air to circulate. The cover sheets are also supported by upper longitudinals (3). The sheet members do not add significant strength to the structure, but are designed to form housings for lighting fittings and wiring, with access panels, and to enclose sound and heat insulating material.
