Abstract

Steel chamber for explosive forming of articles is in the form of a cylinder with one fixed domed end and one removable domed over. The chamber is mounted on supports standing on concrete foundations. The removable end cover is mounted on a carriage which runs on rails. The domed end also supports one end of the work table. The other end of the work table is supported by wheels which run on rails inside the chamber. An explosive charge is placed on the work table together with the article to be formed and the cover placed over the end of the chamber and locked by the ring. After the explosion the gases are exhausted through the valve.
