Abstract
The coaxial cable for the transmission, radiation and reception of HF energy has radiation holes in its outer conductor. The latter consists of a metal strip (3) and of metallised plastic tape (4), with the radiation holes (6) made in the tape metallisation. The metal strip surrounds the inner conductor (1) except for a longitudinal gap (7). The metallised plastic tape covers the gap with the tape metallisation in contact with the metal strip. The radiation holes are in the gap area. The tape may be either inside or outside the metal outer conductor. The radiation holes may be produced by photochemical means.
