Abstract

The pincers may be used to trim wires or the ends of components installed on printed circuit boards, and includes an adjustable spacer-bar (6) which ensures that min. tail-lengths (D) remain. The pincers may have twin inter-articulating arms (1, 2). The cutting edges (4, 5) may align parallel to the pivot axis (3) and locate on the opposed remote tips of the fore-arms. The spacer-bar (6) has two closed slots (8, 9) on the longitudinal axis. A clamp-screw (11) through one (8) of the slots holds the spacer (6) in place and a dowel through the other slot (9) serves as a guide. The tip (7a) of the spacer projects a specified distance (D) beyond the cutting edges (4, 5) and the distance can be adjsuted.
