Abstract

The quick-release coupling comprises a male adapter (8) and a female adaptor (9) which carries a pivoted level (10). A locking plate (11) is received in a slot (9') in the adaptor and engages on the bent up end (10') of the lever. A boss (8') on adaptor (8) enters a slot (92) in adaptor and is engaged by the end (102) of the level. The shoulder (82) abuts the adjacent end of the adaptor. The end (83) is screw threaded for assembly to a pipe. A lug (85) serves for alignment of the adaptors, which may be made of plastic.
