Abstract

1489144 Pipe couplings HELLENIC PLASTICS & RUBBER INDUSTRY ARISTOVOULOS G PETZETAKIS SA 11 Nov 1975 [12 Nov 1974] 46616/75 Heading F2G A releasable pipe or hose coupling comprises male and female members 1, 2 of plastics material for attachment to respective ends of pipes or hoses 28, 29 to be coupled, e.g. by adhesive or by use of a compression clip, the female member 2 receiving the male member 1 with the interposition of a sealing ring 12 therebetween, and the female member having pivotally mounted thereon at least two overcentre locking levers 18, and each lever having a first part 23 which engages in an arcuate recess 7 in the male member 1 and co-operates therewith to draw the members together as the lever is moved from a release position toward the clamping position shown, and a second part 24 which engages with a V-shape groove 8 in the male member and has an abutment surface 25 contacting an abutment surface 9 of the groove 8 to prevent axial separation of the members 1, 2. The seal contacting end 10 of the male member 1 is provided with a series of concentric grooves to improve the seal.
