Abstract

A yarn support comprises a conical dyeing former, capable of nesting or stacking into columns for dyeing the yarn. The walls of the cone support are perforated with holes to allow the dye liquor to circulate. Stacking is effected by the annular cut-out portion in the base of the cone body which is capable of joining or nesting with the upper end of another cone support. The cone support provides a method of joining or stacking which remains unaffected by high pressure dyeing or turbulent conditions, and ensures good distribution of the dye liquor through the yarn.
