Abstract

An optica-electronic device is used to check the profile of pieces as manufactured. It has a simple construction and is not costly. The device has a light source (1) which sends a light beam (2) onto the object (3) whose profile has to be checked. The light beam (2) goes through a slot (4) whose height is greater than the height of the object (3). There is a photoreceiver (5) which gives a signal proportional to the light flux received and the light source (1) and the photoreceiver (5) are moved so as to sweep the profile of the object (3). The photoreceiver (5) is connected to an electronic unit.
