Abstract

The two half connectors are made like a plug and socket and each contains a ring which can be moved axially inside each half connector between emergent position and retracted positions. Each of the fibres passes through the ring and is displaced inside it. The plug-like half connector contains devices to lock the ring in each of the two positions. The socket-like connector has a device to lock the ring in an emergent position and an elastic device enabling the ring to move inside the socket-like half connector. When the two half connectors are joined together, the ends of the fibres are brought to rest against one another.
