Abstract

An envelope blank has one side which, when folded across the middle, forms the outside of the envelope for the outward journey. The edges (D1, D2, E) of the lower half (C1) have a coating of contact adhesive. These edges are folded in so that, when the blank is folded, they engage the underside of edges (G, F, A) of the upper half (B) which are also coated with contact adhesive. The gap between edges (F, G) and (A) facilitates opening of the envelope. The recipient can reverse the central fold so that the other side of the blank becomes the outside of the envelope for the return journey. The inner edges (C3) of the lower half and the inner edges (S1, S2) of the upper half are coated with contact adhesive for making up of the envelope for the return journey.
