Abstract

The venting valve of the train air-brake system has a piston subjected to the reservoir pressure on one side and with the seals on the other side. A ring shaped duct is connected to atmosphere through an open outlet valve. The ring shaped duct ensures that all parts of the control circuit are efficiently vented to atmosphere so that a fast and responsive brake control is obtained.
