Abstract

Pour traiter une coulée de fonte avec du magnésium, afin de produire de la fonte nodulaire, on immerge une capsule F en matériau résistant à la chaleur, comportant des passages d'accès calibrés et contenant le magnésium, dans le bain de métal fondu se trouvant dans une poche verticale A, cette poche étant coiffée par un capot K pour contenir la réaction violente engendrée. Un mécanisme E abaisse et relève le capot et la capsule, et permet d'immerger la capsule dans le bain et de l'en extraire lorsque le capot coiffe la poche. Le mécanisme comporte une tige de plongée portant la capsule et des moyens pour maintenir la tige en position radiale fixe par rapport à son axe contre les forces engendrées par la réaction.
