Abstract

Joint à pivot rotatif et mobile axialement. Il comprend une enveloppe dans laquelle un palier tronconique maintient un pivot et l'empêche de se déplacer latéralement ou de s'incliner, tout en le laissant tourner et se déplacer axialement. Un dispositif de rattrapage du jeu comprend un ressort qui pousse le palier de façon à assurer un'effet de coin qui applique la surface interne du palier contre la tige du pivot. Lorsque l'usure entre ces éléments devient excessive, le dispositif de rattrapage du jeu perd son efficacité et le pivot peut s'incliner et indiquer ainsi que le joint doit être réparé ou remplacé. Application à une roue avant d'un véhicule à quatre roues motrices ou au levier intermédiaire d'une timonerie de direction.
