Abstract

The maize chopper cutting device fits onto its intake rollers to cut off the plant stalks. One of the two opposite horizontal intake rollers is resilient on its casing face and the other is rigid. The resilient intake roller (4) comprises a rigid roller core (12, 13) and an elastic casing par (15, 17, 19) of star-shaped periphery or several, similar casing elements (16, 22). An additional transfer roller (6) is fitted behind the rigid intake roller in the intake direction and this has a rigid, smooth casing face. It is arranged directly in front of the cutting mouth (7) of the chopping mechanism (1).
