Abstract

To obtain a more reliable grip on the weft threads during their transport and at the same time to facilitate as much as possible the insertion of the thread at the time when it is grasped and its release at the time of exchange with the drawing gripper, in the proposed gripper the means of grasping and retaining the weft threads comprise an elongate metal strip (6) fixed to the body (2) of the gripper and at least one flexible element (19) interposed between the strip (6) and the body (2) of the gripper, the flexible element (19) being shaped with a flared opening at the end nearer the point of the gripper (1).
