Abstract

Liq. oxygen is heated to the gas which remains below the b.pt. of ozone. An electron beam is applied to the gaseous oxygen to generate ozone, and this is sepd. as liquid. Pure liquid ozone can be continuously obtd. in high yield by very simple method at low prodn. cost. The ozone is used for bleaching of pulp or fibre, treatment of waste water or sewage, especially the third treatment of waste water or sewage, oxidant for chemical synthesis, reaction accelerator, germicide, etc. Secondary environmental pollution is not caused.
