Abstract

A bronze contg. antimony and nickel is treated to improve its mechanical properties, where the cast ingot is cooled very rapidly in its mould to room temp.,followed by cold working to produce plastic deformation with a redn. in cross-section of 15-30%. The cold worked alloy is then aged at 200-300 degrees C., pref. for 6-14 hours. The mfr. of Cu-Sn-Ni alloys, esp. for rotors for multicylinder hydraulic pumps working at very high pressures; antifriction bushes for hydraulic gear pumps; or for heavy duty plain bearings etc. The invention produces a high strength alloy, thus increasing its field of application.
