Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a device, to decrease the machining man- hours, and to improve resistance to wear, by a method wherein a housing body is cast in an aluminium alloy, and iron-plating is applied on the inner surface for sliding formed inside the housing body. CONSTITUTION:The body 1 of a valve housing is die cast in an aluminium alloy in one body. Iron-plating is applied on the inner surface 4 for sliding to form an iron-plated layer 5. This enables reduction of the weight of a device, decrease of the machining man-hours, and sharp improvement of resistance to wear.

従来のバルブハウジングは、鉄系材料を用いて鋳造して
大略の形状を作り、それを機械加工して製造したもので

上記のバルブハウジングは、鉄製であるため重量が重く
て、自動車の軽量化の点で適当でなく、また、機械加工
も多くの工数を要するので量産的でない欠点があった。

。この摺動内面4には鉄メッキを施して鉄メッキ層5が
形成されている。鉄メッキには、硬さ400Hv以上、
厚さ10μm以上の性能を与えて、カジリを防止し、耐
摩耗性を持たせたものである。
