Abstract

The mechanical and electrical coupling system is used between a detachable element and a fixed structure, and has at least two parallel slides for mechanical coupling. It has also a two part connector one part of which is fixed to the structure and the other part is fixed to the detachable element. The connector forms an electrical connection when the mechanical coupling via the slides is made. The system has also a second two part connector which is also split between the fixed structure and the detachable part. The fixed structure has a pivoting part which carries the slide couplings and a part of the first connector. This arrangement ensures that the detachable element is moved by a pivoting movement when the mechanical and electrical couplings are made. The two parts of the second connector are arranged so that a second electrical connection is made when the element effects a pivoting movement.
