Abstract

The noise damping insert is used pref. for silencing noise generated by water flow in sanitary fittings. The damper consists of a length of elastic tube, enclosed by a rigid sleeve so that there is a gap between two tubes. The elastic tube (3) has at both ends integrally moulded flanges (4). Each flange is readily deformed. The rigid sleeve (1) is fitted around the elastic tube with a gap so that the rigid sleeve ends are held in the groove around the base of each flange. The sleeve ends are formed so that these ends have inside dias. smaller than the sleeve dia. This ensures that the elastic tube and sleeve assembly are concentric.
