Abstract
Indirectly heated thermoelectric cathode consists of a container carrying an emissive layer and contg. a heat conductor. The conductor is coated with an insulating material consisting of the prod. of sintering a mixt. of >=2 insulating frittable components >=1 of which has a thermal expansion coefft. greater than that of the conductor. The coefft of expansion of the prod. of sintering at least one other component is less than that of the filament. Used for indirectly heated electron tubes. No cradles form at elevated temp. between the filament and the casing as occured in prior art. Prod. is more robust and was better resistant to mechanical and thermal shock and to damage by vibration.
