Abstract

The hinge-fitting is for opening window frames which pivot about a horizontal axis and a locking mechanism secures the mobile frame against return rotation to the closure position. The window may be pivoted 180 deg. for the external face to be cleaned, and the locking mechanism prevents accidents due to reverse window motion during this cleaning operation. The mechanism permits rotation in the direction effecting opening and may act on a hexagonal head (9b) to the axle pin. A spring-loaded locking pin (17) with a piston-action is located in a frame drilling (18) adjacent to the head (9b). The locking pin (17) aligns normal to the axle pin and in a position to trap any flat face of the hexagonal head (9b).
